Ian Macdonald Senator Jan McLucus Senator Brett Mason Senator Claire Moore Senator the Hon. Santo Santoro Senator Russell Trood (Scroll down to select your Senator by name) From: *Your Surname *Your Given Names: *Your Email Address: Dear CALL FOR INSURANCE INDUSTRY ENQUIRY Insurance companies have successfully pushed governments to change the rules so they don't have to pay on most injury claims. What they failed to point out is that the legal changes they convinced government to enact won't stop injuries occurring. Accidents will continue on at the same rate. The annual cost of avoidable injury in Australia exceeds $50 billion. As a result of the giving up of consumer protection laws by governments at the request of the Insurance industry, a greater share of this cost must now be borne by taxpayers. Yet insurers are posting record profits and insurance executives are earning record salaries. I call on the government to immediately convene a royal commission or judicial enquiry into the insurance industry and insurance practices. Yours faithfully
